Doctor Who; The Woman Who Fell to Earth Through The Glass Ceiling

With a dramatic flair that only the Doctor can possess, Jodie Whittaker - the first female Timelord, crashes through the roof of a train in her debut episode of Doctor Who. After already crashing through the glass ceiling and making quite an announcement, a train roof was a little more subtle for those dinosaurs still living in the dark ages of society.

Time has moved on, and Jodie's first female Doctor is the meteor that has spiraled into television; providing girls with a new role model and teaching boys the value of female strength.
After airing on Sunday night, the episode had an average of 8.2 million viewers - the highest audience rating for the drama in 10 years and Jodie's first performance of the Doctor didn't disappoint.

Jodie Whittaker still displayed the eccentric flamboyance, emotional integrity, exuberant energy, bold defiance and childish wonder that the former twelve Doctor's possessed. All of these fabulous qualities that the Doctor has always carried were also equally expressed via Jodie's colourful and outrageous new costume.

Jodie's performance throughout the episode was fresh yet old - she radiated the same swagger that the Doctor has always conveyed, yet the Doctor just so happens to wear the body of a female.
The episode was like eating two different brands of marshmallows and realizing that they taste exactly the same; there was no doubt that this was the Doctor and she is exactly the same as she has always been.

And with new companions, Yaz (played by Mandip Gill), Ryan (Tosin Cole) and Graham (Bradley Walsh), and a spectacular list of upcoming guest stars, this new series of Doctor Who is going to be quite an exhilarating adventure and hopefully an adventure that even the dinosaurs will grow to enjoy. After all, 'We're all capable of the most incredible change.'

The next episode of Doctor Who airs on BBC One, Sunday
